Let somebody else run the traffic desk.
Somebody has to tender the loads, chase the exceptions and reconcile the invoices. It does not have to be you.
What managed transportation is
Managed transportation means handing the day-to-day running of your freight to an outside team: tendering loads, selecting carriers, tracking shipments, handling exceptions, managing accessorials, and reporting on all of it.
You keep the decisions. We do the work. Rate approvals, carrier awards and service standards stay yours.

Tendering and carrier selection
Loads tendered by your routing rules, in your priority order. Primary, backup and spot carriers chosen by lane and by service requirement.

Tracking and exceptions
Track and trace that is proactive rather than on request. Late trucks, missed appointments, refused loads and breakdowns handled before your customer hears about them.

Accessorials, audit and reporting
Detention, lumpers and dwell reviewed and documented rather than rubber-stamped. Invoices checked against the rate confirmation before they are paid. Cost per lane, on-time, tender acceptance and exception causes reported.
A word on technology
We are not going to sell you a platform. We use a TMS, DAT for market data, and carrier monitoring tools, and none of that is the reason to work with us.
The reason is that somebody competent is watching your freight and picks up when you call. Software does not call a receiver at 4:45 to hold a dock. More on where we land on tech.
Before
Somebody on your team spends part of every day tendering loads, chasing trucks and arguing about detention. Usually somebody whose actual job is something else.
After
That person gets a report, and a phone call when a decision is needed.
What does not change
You still own the carrier relationships you want to own, you still approve rates, and you still set the service standards. We are not taking your freight, we are running it.
How this differs from just using a broker
A broker arranges the individual loads you send them. Managed transportation takes on the ongoing process, including tendering to your other carriers, auditing invoices, and reporting across your whole freight spend rather than only the part we move.

Tired of running the traffic desk?
Tell us what is eating the most time. That is usually where this starts. If a program requires giving up your carrier relationships, that is a different arrangement, and you should know which one you are signing.
