About TransJet Cargo
Started in 2018 by people who
already knew freight.
- The founding story
Who we are
No outside money. No acquisition. No rebrand. Just a group of people who had spent years on the phone booking loads and thought they could do it straighter.
Be fair with customers, be fair with carriers, answer the phone. That was the whole business plan in 2018 and it has not needed updating since. We are still in Indianapolis, still booking freight from the same desk on College Avenue.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a licensed freight broker. We hold broker authority from the FMCSA, we carry a surety bond, and we contract with authorized motor carriers to move your freight.
We do not own trucks. We do not employ drivers. We are not a motor carrier and we have never claimed to be one.
That is not a caveat, it is the model. A carrier with forty trucks can only sell you its forty trucks. We are not selling equipment, we are selling coverage, so when a lane spikes or a truck falls off we are not out of options.
A few numbers, labelled honestly. These are cumulative company totals from 2018 onward, not annual figures, and the experience number is the combined total across the team rather than the age of the company.

Three rules we actually run on
Not values on a wall. These are the three things the business is actually operated against, and the reason carriers pick up when we call on a Friday afternoon.
1
Be fair with customers
The rate we quote is the rate we invoice. Accessorials priced up front, in dollars. If something changes on a load you hear it before it costs you money, not on the invoice.
2
Be fair with carriers
We pay on the terms we agreed to. We do not bury detention and we do not play games on the rate confirmation. Carriers who get treated straight answer the phone when we need a truck at short notice. That is not sentiment, it is how coverage works.
3
Answer the phone
Three rings during business hours. You get a person who knows your load, by name, with a direct line, rather than a ticket number and a queue.
4
Why we are in Indianapolis
More interstates cross here than anywhere else in the country: I-65, I-69, I-70, I-74 and I-465. Half the US population is a day drive out. When we need a truck in Columbus, Louisville, Chicago or Nashville tomorrow morning, we are calling carriers already running the lane rather than paying somebody to deadhead 300 miles to your dock.
Our mission and vision
Both of these are short on purpose. A freight broker that needs a paragraph to explain what it is for is usually explaining something else.
Our mission
Book freight straight. Quote a rate we will stand behind, pay carriers what we agreed, and tell customers the truth about a load while there is still time to do something about it.
Our vision
To be the broker a shipper calls first and a carrier answers first. Those two things are the same problem, and most of this industry solves neither.
Our core values
Honesty
If a date is not achievable, you hear that before you promise it to your customer. We would rather lose the load than miss the delivery.
Fairness to carriers
Paid on the agreed terms, detention not buried, rate confirmations that say what they mean. Carrier goodwill is the only capacity a non-asset broker actually owns.
Plain answers
No portal, no ticket number, no 'we are looking into it'. A person who knows your load, on the phone, with an actual answer.
Consistency
The same rate, the same process and the same people on load number one and load number four hundred.
Our freight solutions
Everything below is arranged through vetted, authorized carriers. We do not own the equipment on any of it, and the services section goes into each one properly.
1
Truckload and LTL
The core of what we move

Full truckload and less-than-truckload across the US, including dry van, reefer, flatbed and step-deck. This is most of the freight that goes through the desk.
2
Specialized freight
When standard equipment will not do it

Temperature-controlled, hazmat, expedited and oversize. Each has its own rules, its own paperwork and its own reasons for going wrong, which is why they are quoted differently.
3
Intermodal and drayage
Rail ramps and container moves

Rail intermodal for long inland hauls where the transit time allows it, and drayage to get containers off the ramp or the terminal and onto your dock before the free time runs out.
4
International
Ocean, air and cross-border

Ocean and air freight arranged through forwarding partners, and cross-border trucking into Mexico and Canada. Customs entries are filed by a licensed customs broker, which is a separate license from ours.

Got freight?
Tell us the lane and the date and we will get you a rate. If you run trucks rather than ship freight, the carrier page is the other door.

FAQ
Frequently asked
questions

Does TransJet Cargo own trucks?
No. TransJet Cargo LLC is a licensed, non-asset freight broker. We hold broker authority from the FMCSA and contract with authorized motor carriers to move freight. We do not own trucks, we do not employ drivers, and we are not a motor carrier.
When was TransJet Cargo founded?
In 2018, in Indianapolis, by people who had already spent years booking freight. No outside investment and no acquisition. The head office is still on College Avenue.
What does '23+ years' refer to?
Combined freight experience across the team, not the age of the company. TransJet Cargo was founded in 2018. The two numbers get confused often enough that it is worth stating plainly.
Do you handle customs?
We arrange and manage the freight, and we coordinate closely with customs brokers, but we do not file customs entries ourselves. That requires a licensed customs broker in the destination country, which is a different license from a freight broker license.
